Art Documentation Services

Art documentation for artists and art collections has been a central part of Acorn Photo’s business from the dawn of time. OK, since the dawn of the early 1990’s.

Current clients include the Kerry Stokes, Wesfarmers and Janet Holmes a Court Collections through to individual artists like John Tarry, Pippin Drysdale and Susanna Castleden. Jewellers Christel van der Laan and Sam Farmer are regular visitors. Recent publications include two surveys of Guy Grey Smith paintings, one by the Art Gallery of WA, the other by independent curator Andrew Gaynor, as well as a children’s book by Perth street artist Kyle Hughes Odgers and a history of twelve illuminated manuscripts from the Stokes Collection.

We’re currently undertaking a long term documentation project covering the conceptualisation, fabrication and installation of all the major public artworks that the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority have commissioned as a part of Elizabeth Quay.

Acorn Photo work with many of Perth’s most respected artists and art collections. Photographing art requires some empathy and understanding of the work. An appreciation of intent and meaning as well as colour, form and texture are critical to our success. Our up to date workflow is carefully colour managed from camera to delivery file. Equally valued by our clients is our interest and sensitivity for the artworks we meet.[/readmore]
