Mining / Industrial

Photographer Robert Frith cut his image-making teeth on one of the biggest mines in Western Australia, Mount Tom Price. Since then he has continued to create dramatic and real images for minerals and energy clients across the state, both onshore and offshore, in underground and surface mines. Gold, diamonds, nickel, coal, iron ore, salt as well as oil and gas.
Points of difference can be hard to find in a world dominated by hi-vis clothing and seemingly endless parade of yellow machinery. Composition and lighting are key to making powerful photographs.

Making the most of often harsh environments and tight timeframes require a quick and watchful eye to extract the essense of the scene and distill it into an image that expresses something real about working in the resource sector in WA.
